Hillel at Dartmouth aspires to enrich the lives of Jewish students from all backgrounds, so that they may enrich the Jewish people and the world through enduring commitments to Jewish life, authentic learning, and Israel.
We empower our students to create and deliver a distinctively Jewish and universally human future. By stewarding student-led initiatives and broadening student participation, we inspire our students, to paraphrase Jon Levisohn's terminology, to become agile producers of Jewish meaning rather than mere possessors of information.
At Hillel at Dartmouth, we embrace Judaism as a heart of many rooms (Tosefta Sotah 7:12). In our pluralistic community, we celebrate a sacred diversity of thought and practice, with each tradition and path of Jewish expression adding to the compelling tapestry of Jewish life.
Since 1997, the Roth Center for Jewish Life has been a home-away-from-home for Jewish (and Jewish-curious) Dartmouth students and their friends. The building is the intergenerational hub for Jewish life at the College and the surrounding Upper Valley.
